For Uppal Agro Fresh in Chandigarh, India, FFT designed a Controlled Atmosphere storage facility for apples. To be flexible in long term storage, FFT advised about optimal roomsizes and about the best location for gastight doors. A new freezing room was also part of the project.
Construction apple storage facility
In 2014 a team of Dutch supervisors and Indian skilled labour build the CA rooms, according the high standards of gas tightness. The special FFT CA doors were installed and adjusted by the supervisors.
CA facility in tropical climate India
The CA facility is specifically designed for the tropical climate in Punjab; all technical parts have been placed in a temperature conditioned corridor. The CA facility was realized in 2 months, just in time for the apple season.
