Coffee Project - Kerala
This project has developed quite a bit and has split itself up in two separate projects: 1) 'Coffee Project Kerala - Coffee Pulpling' and 2) 'Coffee Project Kerala - Coffee Curing & Spices Processing'. The original project started when an assessment was made whether investment in agro processing could help increase the income level of a group of small, marginal farmers who practise traditional forest farming in the Idukki district. Charcoal Project
As part of the Orkonorei Masaai Social Initiative, the Simanjiro Conservation Development Trust is going to restore large areas of the natural environment on Ormoti ranch (5.000 out 25.000 ha.) to its original state with of course, its local vegetation. Non-native vegetation is removed, water dams for wild life will be constructed and indigenous trees will be planted. A special Twin Retort technology was identified, which could well make the production of charcoal competitive to the traditionally produced charcoal.

Commercial Forestry & Fuel Wood Plantation
The Commercial Forestry and Village Transformation or CFVT scheme, is an initiative that whishes to combine commercial forestry with the economic and social development of surrounding backward rural communities in Gwasi Gembe Hills area, Kenya. The project aims to reforest a substantial part of the Gwasi Gembe Hills, set up a sustainable, commercial forestry estate and raise the income of individual households in the surrounding villages.

Research CA Storage Fresh Fruit (India, Chile, Pakistan, Turkey)
Long-term storage, using Controlled Atmosphere (CA) technology, is widely used in Western countries for fresh fruit and vegetables. In developing countries however, this technology is not yet wide spread. With the FFT Mobile CA Research Container, local fruits can be tested under different storage conditions, as it is equipped with various small cells in which the atmosphere can be individually set and automatically controlled.
